My fourth course began on the 26th of April, with the final lesson being released on the 5th July. It is intended as an extension course, following on from Travel Sketching. Just as Special Effects in Watercolour assumed the knowledge covered in Mastering Watercolours, so this course assumes the knowledge of Travel Sketching. While it is not intended for beginners, if you are comfortable with drawing or sketching already, you might enjoy stretching yourself further and working in fine detail, even if you haven't done my Travel Sketching course.
Cost is US$180, payable with Stripe. You can join any time. All my courses are designed to be completed in your own time so dive in and enjoy Drawing in Detail!

The six lessons cover working in detail using graphite pencils, water-soluble graphite pencils, ink, coloured pencils, and watercolour pencils. There are also options to draw with black pencils, work on toned paper, draw in charcoal and pastel, and a number of other optional extensions for those who wish to explore a greater range of drawing tools.
Various subjects are included, including faces and portraits, rock formations and flowers, but there will be a second challenge each lesson to explore your own subject using the techniques covered. We'll be working mostly on hot pressed watercolour paper and, as usual, in a sketchbook for studies and notes.
Lesson 1 - Pencil
Lesson 2 - Pencil portrait
Lesson 3 - water soluble graphite
Lesson 4 - coloured pencil
Lesson 5 - pens and inks
Lesson 6 - watercolour pencils
The lessons are broken into multiple parts, with at least an hour of video for each lesson.
The next scheduled run-through of this course will begin on the 4th December but you don't need to follow this. You can start any time you wish and work through at your own pace.
